Tianyu Liu  (Ray)

-President and Founder-

For many years, I enjoyed collecting minerals and building relationships with dealers around the world. Eventually, fellow collectors began to request my help in locating minerals that would suit their collections. Happy to share my love of minerals, this marked the start of my journey in writing books and serving others to help them develop their approach to collecting.

I feel lucky to continue to meet such amazing people along this journey – even going so far as developing knowledge beyond aesthetics. How to locate pockets and dig out minerals from them; to behold the best pieces; to learn about how unique each piece can be from even the same pocket to name a few. For me, I am attracted by pegmatite the most, although all minerals have their own aesthetic qualities. Admittedly, I prefer not to collect fragile species even if they are beautiful.

I collect minerals as I would collect art. I hope others can see specimens in this way as well! By cultivating the most aesthetic specimens, I want people to also enjoy the culmination of art and science.

Pegma Bird

-Artistic Director-

As the Artistic Director of Mineral Trio, this holy bird was born from Pegmatite. Over the years, they have flown around the world to develop their taste. With an eye for aesthetic and a critical beak, the bird can pick out only the best pieces from the pocket.

Garnet Mouse

-Photographer-

While taking photos was a hobby, the skill that the Garnet Mouse developed over the years was recognized by the Pegma Bird. Now that they work at Mineral Trio, this mouse scurries around and inside the pocket, swiftly and deftly looking for just the right angle to snap a picture of potential specimen and report to the Pegma Bird.

Magma Penguin

-Web Designer and Seller-

Don’t let their looks deceive you – while the Magma Penguin may not look like the sharpest tool in the shed, their wit is as sharp as their beak! Known as the “IT” genius at Mineral Trio, this penguin is dedicated to making the website a fun and effortless experience.

Rhodo Crab

-Mining Engineer-

Some might consider the Rhodo Crab the backbone of our business. His responsibilities are to mine, clean and trim the mineral specimens picked out by our director. Using his high-quality diamond claws and love of geometry and balance, this engineer brings out the natural beauty of the specimens. In his spare time, you might find him picking up rocks on the beach!

Ribon Chan

-Soprano-

Ribbon-chan, the adorable [mineral name], is known as the face of the company. As a “happy virus” she often acts as the mascot and cheers everyone up no matter the situation. With her lovely singing voice, she loves to bring to life songs about the beautiful specimens that are discovered at Mineral Trio.

Elba Kensi

-Security Guard-

With beautiful specimens like these, Elba Kensi was hired to protect our crystals. With his electric green sword, he not only protects but can occasionally help Rodo Crab in trimming them as needed. While he is a fiercely serious individual, at company dinners he is the most fun to tease. Thank you for providing us with security, Elba!

Mystery Bat

-Insight-

The bat was born from a fluorite cave. Since then, it has been discovered that it has some sort of psychokinetic powers and can function telepathically as a conduit between crystals and humans. Perhaps its powers can influence the study of minerals.

Toritori

-Litterateur and Painter-

This little topaz bird is a growing artist. She has a breathtaking talent for painting, and she loves to surround herself with all the literature she can read. She may seem timid and shy, but that makes her the perfect observer for all the beautiful things this world has to offer. She translates the beauty she finds in her books, and world around her, into her artwork. As her confidence grows and she takes flight, nothing can stop her—she has unlimited potential.
